(Pt2) I like plies but more artists should take time to explain to these kids that they are simply using a catharsis to paint an image. Of course if you tell a 16 year old boy the way to get beautiful women and money is by selling drugs he is going to try it and lead a life that will just feed the prison industrial complex. I date a model and I don't sell drugs. I have B.A. and education is wonderful. More kids need to come from homes where there is a mommy and daddy.

Your actually correct to a certain extent. As an educated black man I did use grants/loans to get my education and get out of the hood. Most of these kids come from broken homes though, without a father figure to look up to it is really hard. My family didn't have much but my dad was a disabled Veteran (Vietnam). So I grew up knowing about Iran-Contra, how the hood got flooded with drugs, etc. A human is only as good as what you teach it bro.

Here, listen to some of this hustler music." Maybe the rich do have a vested interest in keeping the poor poor, but open your eyes and realize the Plies, and many others are part of that group. Like it or not, fact is Plies' money train depends on a romanticized image of street life. Like the shit is something to aspire to.

I was born dirt poor, and for me escaping it was as easy as paying attention in school and staying out of the bullshit and applying for pell grants and student loans when the time came.
