Okay, if you want to be a smartarse; the absolute first incandescent light was made by Humphry Davy (british) in 1802. Edison was the first to create a public and practical version using a carbon filament (most ideas ran on the extremely expensive substance, platinum), 75 years later.

well in case you don't know it was the chinese who invented the worlds' most important inventions including paper, gunfire, movable-type printing, and the compass. you can't copy that.
