When it's a zillion degrees outside one of the guys I work with will be drinking hot coffee; he swears up and down that it will help you cool off better than cold drinks...maybe that's an experiment to try out!!

That was so funny, it reminds me of when I lived in a 3rd fl. apartment with no AC and I filled a small pool in the middle of my kitchen to keep my toddler cool. :)
