In 1973 I had a 57 Olds Super 88 with the J2 option. I was 18 years old , the color of my 88 was Rosemist Pink Paid $800.00 for it on March 4th 1973 and remember listining to Elton John's Crocodile Rock on the WONDERBAR radio.. OHHHHH sweet memories.....So today Im 55 Mother Fuckin years old Obese, Hemmoroides, High blood pressure, Diabetic, Impotent, Alcoholic ...and I have Cronic gas .Did I mention in 2005 i was in a head on auto accident and the Airbag Knocked me Gay...

phkem76, you are incorrect! The 1949 olds v-8 engine was the first overhead valve V-8 engine mass produced. it wasnt high compression, compression ratio was 7.6:1. originally it was planned to be 12:1 but they couldnt get high enough octane gas for it.

I'll definitely be playing this when I drive my '47 Olds.
-
You hit it right on the mark. I own a 1949 88 with a 303 Rocket engine. At that time it was the fastest car on the road.
-
no seriously? shh i wont tell anyone! *sarcasm*
-
you dont wanna know...
I still slap myself silly because of the utter embarrassment
everyone talks about the 50's 60s's "OLD's ROCKET" but even as young as i am, the origanal ROCKET MOTOR was the 303cid Rocket motor that made it's debut in 1949' as the "First High Compresion' engine....

Thanks for the comment. My 1st car was, in fact, a 50 Olds 88 which I bought in 1960.

Isn't the original Rocket 88 considered by some people to be the first real rock n' roll song
pilatunes 4 years ago 2
Yes, I had heard that also. I think the version that's most familiar was a cover of an earlier song.

There's a 53' corvette in there...what are you implying?

Actually it's an Olds concept car from 1954. Does look a lot like the 53/54 Vette though. Thanks for watching.
