@windycity88 Yes, they do. The metal rings heat up (that's why it's important to let them sit on the griddle and get hot). Totally yummy! -Cindy

Nice recipe & great indexing on this. In Canada we call these English Muffins. Crumpets are flatter with big open bubbles on top and very spongy in texture.

@mukwah1111 You could use this same recipe to make the kind of crumpet you're describing. Just use less batter in the rings and don't turn them over. -Cindy
