Timelapse of about 250 earthquakes occurred beneath Yellowstone lake in 24 hours from December 27th 2008, 12:00 UTC until December 28th 2008, 12:00 UTC, with sound at 288x speed.
To convert seismic data (download from VASE 2.8) to audio I used PuterMan's QuakeData utility program.
The earthquake data I used is from the ANSS Earthquake Catalog Search system ( http://www.ncedc.org/anss/catalog-search.html ).
This animation shows vertically the DEPTH of represented earthquakes. North is at the left of the screen. Earthquakes are displayed in compressed realtime at 288x speed.
Be warned that the earthquake view is orthogonal, there is no perspective. Smaller dots are earthquakes of smaller magnitude. Their color hue also changes with magnitude.
Of course yes! Because of that, Yellowstone is a geologically very active area.

Are the earthquakes caused by the super volcano under yellowstone?
