Looks great! It's good to see a brick engine with proper conrods and valvegear rather than oscillating cylinders :) Have you ever tried making a two-cylinder version using a mirror image of the first cylinder? You could build a minifig-scale workshop with fake machinery powered by this engine... That would be great to see- all pulleys and drive belts everywhere

Great engine but if you would remove one of the counter weights it may work better.

It worked great, I was varying the speed on the vacuum.

How did you get the slidevalve to work? I tried and it kept getting stuck. :(

You might have to sacrifice the lego blocks and file them down a bit, adding guides at each end of the steam chest helps, you must lessen friction.
Adjusting bits to get the timing right is also important, I know how a steam engine works so I aplied that knowledge into the model.
