  • So whats the consensus on this particular synth? I have my eye on it but am wondering if there is anything more worthwhile out there for a similar price... I have a Little Phatty, but am after another mono synth that has a noise generator such as this one.

  • @invanorm an obvious choice would be the Mopho? ( or Tetr4 ) if you can afford it. Also the Dark Energy, etc.

  • I'm nowhere near an expert on analog synths, but does this remind anyone else of a Korg MS-10 / 20? I was using an MS-20 recently at my friend's studio, and this Vermona actually has a very similar sound to the recordings I made with the MS-20. I don't want to drop $2000+ on an MS-20, so I'm looking for something very similar. Perhaps this Vermona Mono Lancet would be the perfect alternative? Thoughts...?

  • @shazzbutter Many of these newly made MIDI analog synths are designed after the parameters (or even circuit paths) of vintage units, so you may be exactly right. If you are near LA, stop by Noisebug and hear for yourself? I like the Vermona gear a lot, the Dave Smith ( See New TEMPEST! ) , and I just bought a KORG MonoTribe for my personal use! ( Speaking of that MS 20 filter )

  • Sounds great, seems to be a real synth, not just a toy.

  • @9JohnSmith9 Yes, definitely a real synth. (I wish I had toys like this to play with when I was a MIDI kid!)

  • I WANT THIS SO BAD.

i've been producing with software for over 3 years and I'm getting sick of software plugins. I want hardware!

  • this one or the doepfer Dark Energy... mmmmm

  • I just bought one of these today!

  • Am I right that this synth does not have hard-sync? That would be a chance missed.

  • Hairy hands!

  • @SonyCrocket I have both and like the Vermona more. It's got the creamy sounds I was looking for and it's got two VCO's instead of one so I get more variety out of it. The Dark Energy sounds actually a bit thin and harsh in comparison and excells mostly in making kinda fart-like noises; you can make some pretty sounds too, but it takes much more work.

  • Great, this would be fucking awesome for dubstep :D!

  • can you play it with a midi controller or do you need an additional attachment?
