Ok, I've never watched this show before. Why does that girl with the black hair keep talking about how it's "her baby" when Dawn is the one that's carrying it? Is it like a surrogate mother thing? And why is dawn being held hostage?

because dawn is carrying that womans husbands baby and she cant have kids so she tryed to get the baby and held dawn hostage because she was early ready to give birth
