" Silly people worry me, and never ask me why they don't get past my door. "
- Some Beatle or somebody somewhere in time.
YES.

"Northern", I guess, in as much as Buffy is a Northern Plains lady with a beautiful soul!

@hoksila1980 this is a great record but i wouldnt call it northern soul i would call it folk rock

I think that's the same kind of record player we had when this record was played in our home.

There is no comparison. They are both great artists and this is not in the spirit of art. That is the talk of competition and greed and these two ladies have nothing to do with that pettiness.

@taddyd1, Yes, Buffy's is the version I've loved for many years. I have both in my record/CD collection (am also a great fan of Joni Mitchell), but Buffy works such magic with everything she sings!

Buffy's version of "Circle Game" offers a beautiful upbeat take on the cycle of life. Her amazing voice continues to inspire today with the release of her new 2009 album, "Running for the Drum." Fantastic talent.

This version is awful. 'Circle Song' is a dirge like Joni sings it.
Its not some pap upbeat jingle!

one of thwe great songs of all time and a great movir

Can you people stop beefing about this please, does everything have to be about who's better who's best, Joni and Buffy would not approve.

It's a matter of taste. Joni's version is more sentimental while Buffy's is celebratory. Both do a wonderful job of capturing a different feeling within the same song. To me it's more testament to the power of Joni's songwriting than anything. But people will slag when they can.
