This is sorta a guide (i think i did it very badly) on how to change the Dreamcast Internal Battery (the console must be played for a min of 2HR's a week to keep the battery fully recharged as it only will only charge when the console is turned on but the battery should last up two 20days after the battery is fully charged before it needs to be recharged)a soldering iron can be used to do this if you feel that is better

  • If your battery has died in your DC it probably due to the fact that it has stopped recharging the battery so its safe and cheap to use the battery i use in this video cus i have two dreamcast one still has working batter the and the other failed so replaced with this type and it runs just fine but this is not always the case

  • DONT DO THIS.this guy has no idea what he is talking about.thats WRONG kind of battery and it's not the right way to install it.what an idiot!

  • @flannel2000 I did not state that this is the correct way to do it any one thinking so is stupid and any one who points this out is wasting there time as every one knows and I didnt use the right battery as I used the type of CR that isn't rechargeable but you can get a kind of CR battery that is.

  • @arranmc182 well if its not the right way, maybe you shouldnt have done it in the first place?

  • @micol19 Maybe Sega shouldn't have cheaped out on the hardware then there would be no reason for any videos on any problems cus iv seen way older consoles that still work like brand new like the Sega matersystem and megadrive, and the SNES & N64 most of the all still work with no problems to this day

  • Becuse Batterys die for good

  • 1.) Your lighting sucks and your video is way too blurry. 2.) You tell us to use the wrong battery (it's a ML2430, not a CR2032). 3.) I have no idea what kind of tape you are suggesting we use. It sounds like you're saying cell tape??

Dude, please re-do this video correctly.

  • @fightclubhubbs

A modification would definitely be possible, but I don't believe anyone has tried. But, it's easier to just replace the CR2302 with another one whenever it dies.

The problem is that you'll lose your saved games in the Saturn's internal memory, though, so getting a backup memory cartridge is a good idea (though not always a cheap solution).

  • @Watcher3223 thats all i needed to know. wasnt sure if you could mod the system to charge the battery.

  • @fightclubhubbs

Sure you could, but why would you want to?

The Sega Saturn has no ability to recharge the battery, so there's no point in using an ML2302 in place of a CR2302.

  • @Watcher3223 can I replace the battery in the saturn with a ML2032 instead of using the cr2032?
