Respond to this video... you also realize that this years census is one of the shortest in history right? it has less questions on it than the one used in 1790, the first year it was done.

Respond to this video... ht.tp://2010.census.gov/2010ce
nsus/why/constitutional.php -
@freesk8 the Constitution states the Census will be fitted with the questions that pertain the timeframe and decade. read the damned thing and then come back with your facts.Am I the only person that is getting sick and tired of all the history rewriting the Far flung right is trying to do? try reading for once..
-
@freesk8 Ok . once more, you are required by LAW to answer the questions laid out in the Census. Including race, gender and home ownership, just because you want to rewrite history doesn't make your statements fact. The constitution mandates (yes THE constitution) that every US citizen take part and answer these questions. in fact, it has been going on for 200 years......if you are so concerned about your privacy, then stay off of the internet.

@Newguyde Thank you. That's the sort of thing they should have gone over, perhaps tagged onto the end of the video ...

@EqualRoots yea ok sure

what happened to my earlier comment?? George and Brad, if you are (still) reading these comments looking for something *on topic*: I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
I refused to answer the question about race because it can be used to discriminate against me on the basis of race.
I refused to answer the question on whether I owned my home or not because it is personal information that the could be used against me if it fell in to the wrong hands.
All the Constitution authorizes is a count of all persons living in the nation. It does not authorize questions about race, home ownership, or even marital status.
Knowledge is power, and the govt has too much.

Actually the more information you give the better it is for you. For example, if your state knows that there is a particularly strong concentration of a particular race in a particular area -- then the state knows to allocate funding to that area for items specific to that particular race and culture. By not filling out the service you are preventing specific social services from reaching your community

& as for the government knowing specific items about you personally -- they never will. The information obtained by the Census Bureau is 100% confidential as it pertains to personal data for 72 years. Most of us will be dead by the time our information is released to the public.
