This is the switch for the can crusher filmed at 1,000 fps. We've removed the dark plastic to better see the spark. We use tungsten rod, and each time we close the circuit bits of hot tungsten get ejected. You can learn more about the can crusher at: http://cas.umkc.edu/physics/sps/projectsupd/cancrusher.html . (Up is to the left.) The circuit stays closed for a few seconds. Most of that part has been edited out.
