aah that shit was fun to drive through....in spite of the fact what should have taken me about 45 min. to get home took 8 hours....left the house at 1:15 PM got home at about 8:30 PM :) .....like seriously every turn me and my step dad took to get home was just 10 foot deep water blocking the entire road

No, actually the storm obliterated (doubled) the previous two-day record for rainfall in Nashville. So it does NOT "happen all the time."
But you don't seem like the type to let facts get in the way of your opinions.
As the water gets hotter, the frog sits in the sauce pan on the stove and insists that everything is normal and fine.
