You can't read anything until the end when the part rotates to home position. Laser etched on Hard Anodized Aluminum surface. Low speed, low frequency alows the part to print rather than burn into the surface. Steel parts use the same frequency, but a much lower speed to alow the part to be engraved into the surface.
