Jonathan Trott has been named ECB's Cricketer of the Year after a prolific 12 months. Lydia Greenway took the women's award, while Umesh Valjee was named England Disability Cricketer of the Year.
The awards evening, which was held in the Long Room at Lord's, was hosted by the ECB and Brit Insurance, the sponsor of all England cricket teams.
And ecb.co.uk was there to speak to the stars and give a behind-the-scenes view of the night

  • that Ian Martin looks like a bloated Ashley Giles.

  • @amawji786 sorry mate you missed it. but i saved you some egg.

  • Matt Prior looms like a pub Landlord with his beard being longer than his hair :P

  • Getting rather sick of seeing people criticize Jonathan Trott, going as far as to call him selfish... He's the best test batsman I've seen in many years. When our openers topple early, you can be sure Trott will come in and give it 110%, more often than not giving our team well needed boost on the scoreboard.

I mean almost anyone could've won the award, and they'd have deserved it, but I'm glad to see Trott getting it.

Huge congratulations to Valjee, Greenway & Trott!

  • when was this dinner?

  • truly derserved :)
