Trisha Brown's pioneering style is a cornerstone of modern dance. This anniversary program celebrates the range of Brown's invention over four decades; and includes Set and Reset t(1983), an American masterpiece of collaboration, with a set and costumes by famed visual artist Robert Rauschenberg and music by Laurie Anderson. The New York Times calls it "Brown at her most tantalizing...dartingly quick but so fluid that the body seems a conduit for flowing energy."
Her legendary company will also perform Brown's most recent work Les Yeux et l'âme(2010), the dance suite from the opera Pygmalion, Jean-Philippe Rameau's one-act opera based on the mythical story of love and magic as told in Ovid's Metamorphoses. Featuring gold costumes and music by John Philip Sousa, Foray Forêt (1990) marked Trisha Brown's last collaboration with Robert Rauschenberg and remains one of the most requested works in her repertory.
