The edge of the Sahara desert seems an unlikely spot for an organic farm, but that didn't stop a group of poor villagers in the village of Hart Chaou, 300 kilometers southeast of Marrakesh, from planting one. Reporting for VOA, Solana Pyne describes a Moroccan community farm that could be a model for other drought-prone regions.

  • in Australia they sarted to do the same many years ago and now they ended up with salty soils becouse the acquifires have a lots of mineral salts. Plant trees and build swales to catch rain water!

  • I'll bet that water is as pure as could be. It is truly a great gift to these people.

  • Permaculture seems to involve less work for more output, depending on how well it is designed. ;)
