Part 1 - Demo of ROM Updating - I show my T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 in real time being flashed with a "cooked ROM," (Leo) to another ROM. Another way of saying that I am updating to a different OS or operating system.
ROM on screen is the HTC Sense (formerly HTC Leo) with the Quick Links on the Today screen.
Update: Make sure to see my video on installing the ALT function key patch to enable your T-Mobile Touch Pro2 function keys. If you do not install this, your ALT and function keys will NOT work. Video is here:

Update: Here's a link to MS October 6 announcement of 6.5 and other applications:

Top Secret Update: Look for my video, posted on 09/29/09 that shows you how to use only your TP2 and a microSD chip to flash your phone. No cables, no ActiveSynce, no connection to your computer. I call it "microSD flashing." Check it out, it is the easiest and fastest way to flash a ROM to your phone. You could literally flash your phone while waiting in line at the movie theater!

Out of context update: If you want to restore your TP2 back to factory (so to make a warranty claim, etc.) here is the XDA site that provides a relocker program:

Back to my post:
If you like these ROMS, better than 6.1 that is, check out the site where I got these from, thewingster.com
He has explanations and opinions on each of them and also provides the downloads.
The video starts out with Leo on the screen and going to one called "energyROM standard". I like it because it has lots of cool applications, including fun little add-ons such as the program that makes my TP2 make sounds on sliding open and closing my keyboard. I know, a silly little add-on, but I think it's fun.
Go to www.thewingster.com for further info and to download it. Here is the specific page on TheWingster site:
http://thewingster.com/NRGZ28.aspx
The procedure to get this OS on your Touch Pro2 is called "flashing." While it is an easy process it can be scary your first time. Coming soon: my video on how to flash your T-Mobile Touch Pro2.

I have the tmobile tp2 carrier unlocked working on the att network. Are there any .cabs just for the shortcuts below the clock. I have the 1.91.531.4 wwe rom
ongjared 1 year ago
@ongjared ... Yes, there are cabs all over the place, for every part of the Today screen.
That's called the "Tab bar" and those are Tab bar icons. Search any of the Windows Mobile or Pocket PC sites to get them. For example PPC Geeks has a lot in the WinMo customization section.

Hi I want to know if i flash my Sprint HTC Pro 2 to MetroPCS do i lose the internet and Messeging, Facebook, Twitter ect ? how can i do for flashing without losing everything ?
Janirys2279 1 year ago
@Janirys2279 ... You will have to Google that question. Best place, ask on a Metro PCS forum (fan site).
Services (FB, Twitter) are usually proprietary to the phone's operating system's capability, functionality, and carrier's services. So if Metro phones do not provide Net access to social sites, for example, you will be SOL.
Also, a SIM card won't work on a phone that's not "authorized" by the SIM. Maybe it can be used as a phone, but not for data, WiFi or otherwise.

once you update to window 6.5 u cant go back to 6.1 thats wat i was told at mobile store
Dream83z 2 years ago
Absolutely not true. You can go back and "lock the door" so to speak.
All you need is the stock ROM I have and the "reverse hardSPL" program I have. Once done you can't tell there was HardSPL on the TP2
