Is he's chinese?

@WannaBeANerd Various reasons, really. Some people still have the mistaken notion that teaching Deaf children to sign will impair their ability to learn English. Some people don't know that ASL is an actual language, and consider it inferior to English. Others have been told (often by medical professionals) that an "oral" method of lipreading and speech is best for the Deaf.

I'm taking a language development class and just learned about this babbling in sign language phenomenon. Its amazing to see it in action. Thanks so much for sharing!

@txbrown5 Why on earth would parents NOT learn how to sign if their babies are deaf?

Thank you so much for sharing this - Really, this capture-of-the-moment is so refreshing. Learning language: signing nonsense "babbling" is so natural; that goes same for ASL. I am happy that your son has you as his parents - THANKS, again.

@ASLeslie Thanks! We are going to try to record more "real life" videos to track his language development and to encourage hearing parents to sign with their deaf babies/toddlers!.
