Taliban targets Afghan-Nato 'lifeline' - 24 Apr 2008

Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports on a vital lifeline crucial for sustaining the lives of many in Afghanistan.

The Torkham crossing a key road linking Pakistan to Afghanistan; vital to trade, and for NATO forces, a lifeline for fuel and military supplies too heavy to fly in.

That is a fact not lost on the Taliban, who increasingly see the Torkham crossing as a chance to target the equipment destined for the front lines.

i think it is time Nato should leave, they are like a bull in a china shop, they do more harm then good. they use too much air power that kills civilians, and they need more soldiers but they are willing to do that b/c that causes more dead soldiers. so the war is lost in my opinion

the taliban brought peace n stability 2 afghanistan after the tribal conflicts n lawlessness plagued afghan after the soviets withdrew

they were strict but they brought violence n rape n drug dealing 2 an end

and they had nothing 2 do wit 9/11 so y is america at war wit them
