it's great to see that River continues to be celebrated for his acting skills, and not just as a celebrity who abused drugs and died too young. It has always bothered me that he only comes up when some celebrity dies of an overdose. Thanks Mr. Franco!

I really hope that Gus and James work something out with the Criterion Collection. Hopefully, when the rerelease Idaho on Blu-ray, they can include all of these new features. Both documentaries, and James' super 8 movie. I love River and Idaho and I'd kill to see this stuff. Here's hoping.

This is epic, what an outstanding undertaking! This is one of the most unique movies that I have ever seen and River Phoenix was just amazing. Thank you for this project James Franco and of course, Gus Van Sant. Thank you for bringing this film and its brilliance again to us.

James Franco, your project is a love letter to the original movie. I sure hope the rest of us get to see it somehow--if you can't bring it to our theaters, please upload it somewhere. I think everyone who wants to see it wants to see it with the exact same love for MOPI and for River Phoenix that you have.

Thank you for posting this vid. I'm so glad the film and River Phoenix are being honored by James Franco. He is a tru artist and so is Gus Van Sant. Franco has also made a movie about 50s actor Sal Mineo that premiered at Venice. He is one busy creative man!
