New Century IDA: Economic Literacy Class w/Harvey Reid

Information about the New Century IDA, in Forsyth County N.C., with segments from a literacy class with the absolutely dynamic Mr. Harvey Reid. IDA accounts are Individual Development Accounts. They are matched savings that clients in our program put towards buying a home for the first time.

Harvey Reid went from homeless, single father, to successful financial education consultant, and owns his own consulting firm. He speaks at our economic literacy classes, and teaches the clients how to track their spending and how to budget.

New Century IDA clients attend financial literacy classes for one year prior to buying a home with matched savings. These classes are once a month, and typically between 6 and 8 PM.
