Michael and I stopped for a moment on Fields-Denio Rd on the eastern side of Steens Mountiain. An unbelievably beautiful and desolate part of southeastern Oregon.

  • Very good video, thank you for the zooms (better perspective on the location) and great audio. I have yet to drive the Steens. I have been to the Riddle Mtn. Lookout on the Northern part of the Steens area approx 43 miles SE of Burns. That alone was a tough steep climb. 4x4 is recommended, but can be climbed with 2wd if you only use 1st or 2nd gear. The lookout is near the Round House museum (you can get directions from the BLM in Burns).

  • Thanks! We were going to drive to that lookout, but the BLM had already closed the road due to early snow accumulation, and it was snowing hard up there the day of the video. I was bummed, but the trip along the eastern side of the range was spectacular. I'll definitely go back.

  • I think that this whole road was paved last year.

  • I don't know why, but southeastern Oregon, although very beautiful, gives me a really eerie feeling, like I just need to get of there as quickly as I can. It creeps me out. Very beautiful, though.

  • Awesome...i wanna go!

  • i always smoke hella bowls there too.. the alvord that is.. awesome area for stoner adventures!
