Since today is Martin Luther King Day, I wanted to make a tribute to his memory and the times of which he lived.

The song used in the video is called "Look Down, Lord" from "Rosewood"(1997), featuring lyrics and music by John Williams

There is a also an audio excerpt from Dr. King's "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech: "We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land!"

This was his last speech and he was assassinated the following day, but his mark into this nation shall and must never be forgotten.

  • I was actually looking for the song and I found this video. It is so moving, a tab bit eerie for me, but moving (and beautiful) nonetheless. (Then again, I got the chills when I watched an MLK documentary and they were playing Moonlight Sonata during the part that discussed his assassination.)

I love the way their voices take my mind to a place where I just don't think about anything. All I can focus on is the rhythm of their voices and the images before me.

    Excellent video.

  • just like the great prophet Moses, he saw The Promised Land, but did not enter--both great men of God are now w/ Jesus in Heaven

  • this is amazing! thnx for posting! may MLK rest in peace!
