The boys of South Park sneak into the Vehicle Assembly Building to have a talk with President Obama and Charlie Bolden about their plans for human spaceflight.

I do not own any rights to the source South Park video in any way.

  • @AgrivatedKillah "you aren't interested in the same things as me, you must be intellectually challenged" is basically what you've just said. you do see the irony in this don't you?

  • @KomodolaiTesla It's only boring if you're stupid and don't care about space exploration.

  • well arent these comments long and boring as hell? its a dubbed over clip of south park. calm down

  • @maule540 I would reply but your ramblings don't make it clear what I'm replying to....

  • @RomanianKnight Exactly HOW is an asteroid better? Does it have some sort of super resource that they can bring back that would revolutionize the world? Are we building something on it? Are we blowing it up? Changing its orbit? Or are we just there to plant a flag?

  • Your logic is the rocket launchers type which I have heard many times.

It was the FACA panel that NASA assembled that noted Constellation was both underfunded and over budget that president endorsed the study as being factual. The report is on the NASA website please go visit and read it. Maybe you have not heard about the other Mission Directorates in Aeronautics and Science and Space Operations. Cx is not the only program is NASA

What is Consuming Hydrogen and Acetylene on Titan?

  • Ummm The NESC is a center at NASA which conducts Engineering and Safety for the agency as well and the US Govt and Commercial Companies as requested. This is study which the NESC is conducting and is funded not out of the NASA budget and is good for America.

NASA has other objective that do not include launching rockets with humans from KSC.

  • @RomanianKnight Ummm...don't you think NASA investigating Toyota gas pedals is a bit of a diversion? How about NASA conducting climate research that should be handled by NOAA? Clearly you get your information from the mainstream media. In Obama's speech to KSC workers (none of which were allowed to attend) he said Constellation was both underfunded and over budget...that doesn't compute. The point made by this video is that under Obama's leadership NASA has no direction.

  • @divedevil985 This industry can be profitable. If you need an example look to the french *shudders*. Arainespace owns the unmanned market like apple owns the downloadable music market. So it's not like spaceX isn't profit-motivated. NASA should stop splitting its attention between building a truck and building real hardware that will be used once they get into space. That is real, sustainable exploration. Do you honestly think the PoR was sustainable??

  • @divedevil985 I agree that there is a world of difference of between a "contractor" and a "for profit" space company like spacex. SpaceX and Orbital are really this nations only space companies (maybe include Virgin Galacatic, but I'd rather not) but what they provide is specific. LAUNCH services. ULA isn't really a company, it's a government contractor with periodic lapses. While CxP had a glamerous goal to build a base on the moon, all those funds were diverted to the Ares rockets!

  • @divedevil985

Well question man, what is Phase 2. what about phase 2. I do not need directed work. What a phaser ?

No one is mocking anyone. The KSC workforce needs help, it is getting help currently.

I find the video a reflection of the KSC workforce. It appears you do not feel this way. What is Phase 2? no one will tell us, we cannot think for ourself.

  • @maule540 you're mocking the KSC workforce for it's need to be re-educated when you clearly have never been educated at all! Ironic...but typical liberal. No one at KSC wants Obama's "welfare money" they just want to be a part of America remaining dominant in space.

  • @maule540 You're clearly a NASA hater...were you turned down for a job there once? I can see why because you're post is almost illiterate. But what was clear was the animosity towards the workforce which indicates your motive is envy. The actual workforce at KSC knows that not only does work takes place outside the VAB in hundreds of locations across 48 states but that the space program is extremely important to national defense in ways you could not know or understand.

  • @RomanianKnight the Bush vision for space exploration kept the best of the shuttle program instead of discarding 30+ years of experience as the foundation for new technologies. True private enterprise is when companies find a way to make a profit in space such as retrieval of resources and selling them on the consumer market instead of existing on fat government contracts. The problem i have with the current plan is that it cancels progress without alternatives in place.

  • @RomanianKnight Who do you think builds and supports current space systems? You won't find a NASA "technician". NASA lays out the vision...it is designed, built and operated by private companies. I'm afraid you are on the hate Constellation bandwagon. I didn't like Ares V...and was hoping for something more commonsense such as Direct's Jupiter concept. But Ares 1 had potential. And both had something vitally important: they both use SRB's!

  • @divedevil985 I don't disagree with the principles of Cxp: get out of LEO, establish a permenant base off-planet, and go to mars witht the goal of settling there. All I take issue with the method: building an incredablly coslty rocket that launches maybe 3-4 times a year (barring a challenger-style disaster), and giving the government a monopoly on the manned spaceflight market. Isn't it about time for american capitalism to apply to space too?? Unless you're against capitalism, that is.

  • Phase 2.5 is: Have the non-educated workforce that thinks all work takes place in the VAB and the prime objective of NASA is to launch humans into space get a life in the real world. Constellation is no more real then anything else at the moment. The idea the NASA has no need for science and research to enable exploration is the reason this video is posted. I'm sure it has a wonder influence on the education for the public on what KSC does for the America

  • I doubt you have any clue the numerous reasons behind the rationale for Constellation in addition to protecting human life in a nearly fail-safe vehicle!

  • What would you suggest smarty pants? Warp drive or faster than light? Sorry...this is the real world. Constellation and it's components formed a highly effective solution to reaching orbit. Beyond that it would be easy to simultaneously work on propulsion systems that improve on interplanetary travel while developing the platform to get into orbit. The majority of technology already exists...we just need the will to use it. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid!

  • ha! obama and his lakie do boy chucky...love it! the blind leading the uninformed.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! LOVED IT! .. SPOT ON!!!

  • phase 2? how about developing the technologies to get to an asteroid. I mean not that sinking millions of dollars into an unsustainable program that barely beefs up the technology we had in the 60's isn't interesting and all, but I dunno, asteroid and affordable space sounds kinda better. That's just me though.

  • Phase 2 is:

The KSC workforce just received 15 million to be re-trained...re-educated.

This is a funny video from the KSC workforce, yes it is, what is a phaser?

  • Its funny because its TRUE!!!!!!!!!

  • Now that's FUNNY....
