@Shippuuden4ever Because that is something a normal man would do. Clark Kent, Kal-El, is no ordinary man-- he's SUPERMAN. Superman would never, ever allow himself to let Lex Luthor die, no matter what, at least not in the mainstream comics.
However, plenty of Elseworld tales have been spun about Supes actually going off the deep end, and a two-part JL episode was about an alternate Supes killing Luthor in his universe and the JLA becoming dictators.
