H.B. 308: Carolyn McCarthy's Large Capacity Magazine Ban

January 23, 2011. I'm 5 days behind getting this video out. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy of New York introduced her Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device legislation on January 18, 2011. This would ban the transfer or importation of any magazine that holds or can ever hold more than 10 rounds. This may even be able to be construed as any ammunition feeding device, since most any magazine could possibly be altered to hold more than 10 rounds. Contact your local, state and federal representatives and let them know you do not support Carolyn McCarthy's ridiculous gun control bill which is just the first step in firearms confiscation and the repeal of the 2nd Amendment. That's their ultimate goal. Remember the 3 steps, 1. Legislation 2. Registration 3. Confiscation. Call your legislators today and oppose this bill!

@EverHurt I feel for you brother. You guys in NY and CA are truly oppressed. States with the strictest guy laws are known for having the highest crime rates. States with the most lenient gun laws have the least crime. Go figure!

@Nauckauha It may be possible for a felon to legally purchase a firearm, but I don' tknow how one would go about doing it. I know a guy who got 3 DUI's within 5 years, the third one being a felony, and 15 years later he tried to purchase a handgun and was denied because he was a felon. I don't agree with that at all. I can see restricting violent felons, but they will jutst get them some other way. No gun law ever passed in this country has made anyone safer.

@The1MOA Maybe not just a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds, maybe a magazine period. The bill says any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds or can be converted to hold more than 10 rounds. It makes me a little afraid they could try to ban any magazine fed firearm.

I asked what the felony or felonies you committed are because it does matter. I don't agree that all felons shouldn't be restricted. However, violent felonies, drug crimes and domestic violence I agree with. They shouldn't be armed.
