  • @MrWirelesscaller Mate if you are exercising with an ipad, you've got bigger problems then cords. As for power consumption, i don't know where you are getting your information but USB takes substaintially less power then blue tooth, especially if that other object has its own power supply (like with say a PC).

  • @matthewlane

bluetooth for those who work out (you don't want any cords to impede your movement) or travel internationally to use voip. Bluetooth uses far less juice which may be concern for battery life than powering an external usb drive, if it had a transflash slot, then I'd give credit for it instead since those are compact and require far less power than most flash thumb drives.

  • @johnnymassacre Oh how threatened by this piece of superior tech must you be to try to make appeals to motive. Its a sales pitch presentation mate, Steve Jobs did not invent them.

  • @MrWirelesscaller Hahahahaha, nobody really cares about bluetooth mate. An lets be honest which is the better function

    A. The ability to use Blue Tooth

    B. The Ability to plug in USB devices

I'd say the USB connectivity thing alone will topple Apples tablet monopoly. Finally a product priced competetively for those of us who want interconnectivity & wont pretend that an inbuilt camera is just as good as a USB slot. So yes this will kill the ipad, it will kill the ipads monopoly.

  • @ruflychux more like an E.... yeah in detriot we call it an E... yeah i know its stupid

  • This is a nook killer, not an ipad killer. This is also a better option for most people than the apple ipod touch. This will not kill or replace most pmp, it's lack of bluetooth and immediate connectivity to car stereos will make this a niche for those who want an ereader with websurfing abilities.

  • Seriously, this guy just ripped off Steve Jobs' price reveal, and he has the charm of a rapist.

  • Amazon is slowly creeping in the multimedia market, and i have to say they are doing well... the fact that we are in recession has opened alot of opportunities for them. i think the kindles unique selling point is that it is affordable, lighter, linked to cloud systems. which many industries are following, again another reason to enjoy longer battery life i bet.

  • But...can it cook you breakfast?
