The Honu (Green Sea Turtles) & fish serenade us as Grace shows us around.
Honu can live up to 80 years, grow up to 5 feet & weigh as much as 700 pounds. We saw several on the day in this video, in one shot there were 3 in view @ the same time.
Richardson Beach was the best snorkeling we encountered on the Hilo side, they featured the most Honu of all our Hawaiian scuba & snorkeling adventures. The Kona side has better clarity & more diversity of sea life. Our best scuba & snorkeling experiences have been on the Big Island.
The song is He Mele No Lilo by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu ft. Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus, as featured in Lilo & Stitch.
