A water droplet photographed 300 times at time intervals of 1 millisecond using a 1D MkII N camera. Effective frame rate is 1000 frames per second. Video played back at 12 frames per second. The real time duration of the splash is 0.3 seconds

too bad it isn't really a high speed recording.
this is done with a strobe and letting lots of drops fall in constant intervals.
