the miss was only about 1 or 2 seconds before the goal, but sitting in a bar with 200 other people all thinking the exact same thing (censored on this:) made this the greatest moment in usa sports history

i think what made this goal so great was that 1. it was literally their last chance to score in the game. 2. the first blocked shot left a moment of suspense in the air that made time seem to stop and make people think in a split second "our chances are over". and 3. donovan comes out of nowhere to put it home. it couldn't get anymore epic than this.. it's like a michael jordan 3 pointer to win the NBA finals by 1 point with no time left.. it just doesn't get anymore textbook greater than this.
