As requested, I've put together a new set of time lapse videos of the Harris Fire burning over Lyons Peak. Shots from the North, South, East and West as the brush burns around the tower. The time frame is roughly 20 hours on Oct, 24. Some clips I have shortened to highlight just he burning of the brush.
These videos can be found at UCSD's High Performance Wireless Research and Education website: http://hpwren.ucsd.edu/cameras/LyonsPeak.html
Well, creating buffer zones doesn't always work, zgambino. The firefighters tries that in 2003 and they ended with more fires.

Hi zgambino. I work with Cheryl and she told me about your videos and gave me your username. Great videos. Must have been quite a site to see in person. Too bad so many homes were destroyed. Cheryl didnt say anthing about you being affected, so that's a good thing. Have a great night.

I climbed up Lyons Peak a couple of years ago on the south side. It was really tough; a lot of bushwacking and boulder-scrambling. It looks like all the brush is burned away now, though!
