@darrin42 [cont'd] I think one of Kojima's points was that that in some battles there was no "absolute evil" (recall The Boss' speech close to the end of MGS3). But what Lucas' Star Wars and Kojima's Metal Gear series have in common seems to be reconciliation in between the antagonist and the "new protagonist", right before the former's death.

Anyway, guess I liked both because these elements are lacking from most fiction, that aims instead to draw a clear line between "good" / "bad".

@darrin42 It's a good point - We may disagree, but IMO Big Boss was painted pretty darkly in MG and MG2 (Kojima could have made the decision later), and it was only by MGS3 that he was shown to be "good".

@OmgReaverDrop I made the comparison myself some time ago. It does seem that they have a lot of similaritys. But also a lot of difference. Big Boss was never tempted to the ''dark side'' so to speak. He did what he did out of belief in himself and love for the soldiers he fought with. And I'm not sure I would even class him as properly evil, even during Metal gear, and MG 2. He was more just......on the opposite side of Solid snake and Foxhound is all.

@MetalGear4Life I do prefer the Metal Gear storyline more, but I wouldn't say that I made the connection until I started really thinking about it. Of course, in retrospect, what you said does make sense, pretty interesting how you got into Star Wars that way (I can't say the same for me though).
