  • It´s a shame this little country ran out of resources and it´s no more what used to be. Even fishing is a deadly activity with all the pollution the phosphates left on its sea.

  • Dear Castlemainer, thanks for uploading this. I'm going to Nauru next year ! Were you on holsthere? Also where's the music from? John

  • I believe it was magic, many beaches in northeast Brazil were just like that, white volkswagens, music, nice people, nice girls, free love and inocence, no police, no lawyers, no old women saying "what a shame this should be forbidden" no communities asking to pass a law to forbid this and that,..just people living and enjoying life. Happiness was possible because the world was a place with fewer people, more freedom, less prejudices, less strong opinions

  • Dear Nauru friends,

my name is Mário Annuza; I am Brazilian and I am 33 years old. Since I was a child, I love your country ! Admire your music and collect varied coins. Among them, there is one from Nauru ! Hugs from Brazil,

    Mário.

  • i was 20 years of age in 1973...working with the government of Nauru and involved in apex club of Nauru...awesome clip

  • Thanks for the clip...awesome and what is the track title.

  • Hi Guys, I love you all for your moving comments about this once called Pleasant Island when first discovered by a whaler Capt. John Fearn in 1798. I was born in 1953 when pnm47 was in Nauru at the age of 6. Hi pnm47. Regardless of it's dwindling economy today it is still a pleasant (you sleep soundly either day or night) island to live in. Nauru people die laughing. A true pleasant island.

  • I was in Nauru last year (2010), part of a US Navy mission to deliver/donate medical supplies. Very sad to say the grips of financial scandal and mismanagement have left a desperate state. Stripped clean of her only marketable resource, phosphates mined away for export to the large first world countries, this once tranquil corner of polynesia is on the verge of abandonment :(
