Most of the speech was good, except for the different age requirements for both male and female senior citizens. It should be either 62 for seniors of both genders or 65 for both genders. Kennedy was the last good democrat president. I find that he is a lot like Ronald Reagan in some ways.

Popular opinion polls show Kennedy, Reagan, & Lincoln in the top three, not necessarily in that order. Polls of hiistorians show Reagan at No. 10 with Kennedy as No. 6 behind Lincoln, Washington, Franklin Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, & Harry Truman. I hope some day JFK will be at least No. 4 as more info comes out about the Cuban Missile Crisis & his efforts to bring peace to the world. Reagan should be further down next time because his economic policies produced the current crisis.

God bless you for saying your comment. He was a good president. It was a tough time in many ways- but he always came through. He was the best president in my lifetime.

Thanks for your response. The Poll cited below was a 2008 poll of 65 historians using ten categories of presidential performance. Considering he didn't even have three years in office, the results are extraordinary. It was a tough time. Many do not know what he was dealing with behind the scenes. He was exceptional really. No president had ever said some of the things he said. It was a joy to have him as our President. It was a deep sorrow to lose him.

Additional response to my first post. I said that some day I hope he will be No. 4. Really in my heart, I hope some day he will be number 1. Lincoln saved the Union. But JFK saved the world. God bless him!

Ted Kennedy would have been a great president, but he couldn't have matched up to democratic presidents like JFK, Andrew Jackson, FDR, ect.
