The second verse was a great third verse. I wish John had written a real second verse, then put another flute bridge between the second chorus and third verse. This song is too short. It sounds like Ed Sullivan told them, "Boys, our really big shew is running long, so cut a verse out." (Like the Stones did on "Satisfaction.")
Who am I to tell John Lennon how to write songs? Someone who's heard him enough to know he can take a really good song like this and make it perfect.

I say gather around all you clowns.... There is poetic purism inwhich john did what a poet is supposed to do.... which is make you think .... while at the same time ... make you feel... Thank GOD that we are able to do that!!!!

I miss John and George as much today or even more, then when they passed away ~ way to soon. I wonder though, What would John's reaction be if he could face John Chapman. Would it be bitter and hateful, as I feel, or would he have lived by his words and music.
Not only was John a great musician but he was a great humanitarian. Would he have forgiven him, I don't know, but he took all that time to raise his son to be of Peace and Love, as he and Yoko were. So so sad he's gone.
