Canadian Wooden Domes
suit a wide range of applications including residential (custom designed homes, townhouses, cottages); public (schools, meeting halls, sports facilities), commercial and industrial (tourist lodges, warehouses), and institutional (housing, emergency shelters).

  • Beautiful. Made from leftovers from the saw mill, utilizing the scraps! I like both the dome and the geodesic forms. Very inspiring. I'm a musician and I'm going to have to do some modeling to determine the acoustic properties; it might be a challenge to get it right for a recording studio (domes have a focal point which is undesirable, acoustically).

  • I like Geodesic Dome concept...

here in Concepción Chile I have a 8.8 strong hearthquake in february 2010

this is the way , this is the future- is simple.

  • If I built one of these I would reienforce the exterior and coat it with concrete that way the dome would never be destroyed but you might as well get a MDI airform and build a set of 20' domes and insulate with spray cellulose on the interior. If MDI could get financing and be able to tell you what it would cost I am certian there are many that would take what they could get as long as it was a dome and cost ~ mobile homes square foot wise. Domes should cost less than trailers less material.

  • awsome it survived four earthquakes of increasing intensity survivin one would have been impressive.

  • I own a geodesic dome. Wouldn't a geodesic design use less materials and still offer the same benefits?

  • Wouldn't it be easier to cover the outside of a geodesic? It seems to me that the flat surfaces of a geo are superior to this pure sphere in that respect.

  • this is pointless, i mean the cost to build not to mention the insulation value of another wooden house. compared to the already more practical concrete/polyeurathane dome housing. i dont think another forest should be cut down for another house that will just rot away in time anyways.

  • skip the bullshit, show us the domes and how they were constructed...(we all feel very safe under such a shape....jeez)

  • Listening to these people speak is proof that the drugs were better in the sixties, but the long term effects on the brain also much worse.
