In this outtake from "Superstar in a Housedress" filmed March 27, 2002 Sasha McCaffrey remembers a crazy drug-fueled late night revel he experienced with Jackie Curtis and Margo Howard-Howard (Jackie's drag queen drama coach mentor). Brace yourself!

  • Sasha saw this "out-take" from the movie for the first time tonight. He is a great story teller. I have two videos in which he talks about meeting Quentin Crisp & then taking him to the opera. The "exact titles" are: "QUENTIN CRISP MEETS THE WISH GRANTING FAERIE" & "Quentin Crisp Goes To The Opera".

  • I knew Sasha in NYC in the 70's. He was (and I hope is) a very talented man with a very big heart. His flickering flame Roy*Allen was another shimmering glint in that untarnished halo - 2nd Avenue and 1st and 3rd Sts - the Hells Angels right next door to flowing prisms elucidating tall-talk all night tripping and Pisca on the fire escape - then Roger the Guinea Pig of Light too passed into the Bardo - blessed Sasha may you be well wherever you are.

  • I knew Sasha for a while, through Chris Robison. Chris was the first, openly gay rock star in history, and Sasha co-wrote one of the songs on his first record.

  • I gotta admit I enjoyed Sasha's stories probably more than anyone's in this film, he is a born storyteller! I would LOVE to take him out to dinner one night and just LISTEN to him for hours! :)

  • Joseph (Sasha) McCaffrey, the wild child, with great sensitivity and creativity and more vulnerability than anyone should have to endure. I wish you'd moved to the soothing countryside instead of the the hard core city. What an intense level of trauma and drama you've lived. Most of the people I knew back then are long gone. Best wishes Sasha, Diana Hall

  • This story is very typical of Jackie and Margot's close friendship. True to the core! Cityboy114
