  • oh By God i have the same pair like this

but dear the female was 2 months back was 7 months old she started mating with the male

now she is perhaps 9 or 10 months old few days back they mate again but dear still no eggs female is moulting

is it possible after moulting they lay eggs ?

because female is now more adorable as compare to past

  • Hey- its possible for the cockatiles to lay eggs after the age of 7-8 months. but its better if u dont let them breed up to 1 year in age. it is just because u want the female to be meture enough to look after the eggs and the new born. i think you shouldnt worry too much give them few more weeks if the box is still there for them then they would start doing their bussines soon................... gud luk wid ur birds

  • How do u know if you have a male and a female cockatiel?

  • @Goku234567890

Normaly the female has the grey face with light pink cheeks and the male has yellow face with very pink redish cheeks.... when the white cocatile female and male doesn't have the grey or yellow face but yes you can find out with the marks under female's tail and the male's tail would be clear white...........................Gud luck

  • @Goku234567890 hi, it's easier to tell with grey cockatiels, as males will usually have a bright yellow face, and vibrent orange/red ear patches, where as females will be paler than the males, and tails will be "barred" underneath, and also, if you look at the wings open, Females also have spotted wings inside, also Females lay eggs , our female was a male, we were told by a pet-shop owner to open the wings to check for spots, and sure enough, there were the spots :)

  • @vidchickable use pine shavings in the bottom of the nestbox and feed the birds a good cockatiel seed. I feed one that has parakeet, canary, millet, safflower, sunflower and niger. You can also feed wheat bread and fruits and veggies. I find they like canned whole corn or fresh corn on the cob even frozen whole corn. I also feed a hulled oats. I also make a daily nestbox check to see if everything is ok. This way you can remove broken eggs and dead chicks.

  • @emontes71 yes you remove the one that is plucking. The babies in turn will pluck when they are of breeding age. So pull the parent that plucks.

  • @Pres4ri you can take the babies out at 2 weeks and up to 3 weeks but its tougher to get them to accept the syringe or spoon at 3 weeks. I pull at 2 weeks and I will generally pull the whole clutch and put in a warm incubator to start the handfeeding process. Good luck.
