"Back to December A Niley Story" Chapter 4

(Flash back)

She walked down the sidewalk. Her heavy coat on and gloves. The temperature was below freezing. She breathed heavily. Her breathe showed in the air. It was depressing. She had lost him. The only person who ever truly got her as a person.

She wanted to cry but she wasn't sure if she even had any tears left. Despite the air she sat down in her favorite spot under the tree she and Nick had carved their names in when they first started dated. She of course thought it was corny but secretly loved the fact that he wanted to even do it. It showed her really did care.

She looked at it "MC + NJ 4 ever" in a heart right on the left branch of the tree. Like her heart the branch was pretty much broken. She smiled as she traced the letters closing her eyes. Funny they carved the initials the same time of year. The first snowfall of the winter he had decided to do it. She smiled because she remembered that this...was were they also shared their first kiss. She remembered how soft his lips felt against hers how perfect they matched with hers and lastly she remembered the look he gave her after they parted. She let a tear fall as she layed down in the snow and closed her eyes

(Flash Back Ends)

"Soo are you gonna tell me any time soon or do I have to continue to guess?" he said as he look at the ocean.

The moon sat just right on top of the wavy waters. He had sat there and let her cry on his shoulder. He promised he'd be there for her whenever she needed him and it seemed like she needed him more than anything right now.

"So do you still live in Kansas?" he asked.

"Yea....you?" she asked her voice scratchy from all the crying.

"Yea....we should meet up when we get back....I remember you used to love Cold Stone" he smiled

"Um...Nick as great as that sounds when we get back its not gonna be like this... the ground is gonna be covered in snow. And its probably gonna be freezing I don't think it's a good season to eat ice cream" she smiled

He smiled back at her then looked down. He thought back on their last meeting. All the things he said to her...all the things he called her. Then he looked back on life with out her. He was miserable.. He dreamt of her every night. Then he met Nicole. At first she was a rebound but then he fell for her. She was a good replacement for Miley. She made him smile and she healed the hole that was in his heart.

But truth be told...she could never be Miley. She could never give him the feeling Miley gave him. And something about sitting with Miley right now made him feel warm inside.

But reality had struck him. She belonged to someone else now. Some one who wasn't him.

"MILEY!!!!" an angry voice interrupted his thoughts.

Miley's POV:

Her head popped up as she heard his voice. Still drunk. She thought. She scooted away from Nick and stood up.

"What Lucas?" she sighed.

"DON'T WHAT LUCAS ME! WHO THE HELL IS HE? AND WHY ARE YOU SITTING OUT HER WITH HIM!!!"

"Lucas calm down your drunk! He's an old friend!" she said as she walked up to him.

"SHUT UP!" he said as he pushed her down not trying to. Nick's eyes grew furious. As he walked up to Lucas. It finally hit him. Miley wasn't happy. And she'd never be as long as she was with him.
