Vent; long overdue:

Dear stranger,

I don't even know where to start.

There are so many things I've wanted to say to you, things I've held back for such a long time. Even though you're never going to read this, I decided it was finally time I let this all out. I hate the sound of your voice; the way your smile still makes my insides melt. Mostly though, I hate that we're strangers now.

You used to be my world.

Thinking about it now, my entire 2010 year was basically dedicated to you. Falling for you, dating you, completely adoring you, hurting you, crying over you, feeling at the top of the world, then hitting rock bottom, all because of you, you, you.

The majority of this year was spent trying to get over you. I found comfort in family and friends, and rekindled my passion for music. Whenever I went for a jog, I ran for seemingly miles, and I pretended I was running away from you. The further away I got, the more accomplished I felt. As wrong as it sounds.

I'm stronger now.

You used to make me feel like a pathetic little girl sometimes.

But I'm not that girl anymore, at least, I hope I'm not.

Do you know what scares me? Everytime I believe that I'm entirely over you, I'll catch your gaze for just a second, and suddenly it all comes back. It doesn't hurt like it used to; it's just this tiny, tiny ache in my chest. But it's still there.

I hate when we pass eachother in the hallways at school, as if we meant nothing to eachother. I'm sorry I broke your heart. I'm sorry I didn't fight hard enough for you. But most of all, I'm sorry that we didn't work out.

Because you're my gravity. My wonderwall. And I'll always, always love you as my first -real- love. Even if I don't 'like' you anymore.

But I can't keep breaking hearts this, just because you broke mine. I need to finally realize that you're not coming back.

I don't know what's in store for me in the coming new year. I don't know if things will change between us, or if something else will come along; I don't know. But for now, I do know one thing; that whatever is meant to be, will be.
