Also, just because you're an art student doesn't mean you need to dress like one.
My friend is a sculptor who is attending an ivy league art school, and he dresses in sweat pants while creating his heavenly masterpieces. You just dress like a clown and probably go to a clown league college where you make clown art.
I don't know why I typed this.

Mostly I've seen reproductions in books, of course... the actual colors are dazzling and the sheer size of those scroll paintings is overwhelming. Brought to you by his landlord Nathan Lerner, the (no kidding) inventor of the sponge mop and the bear-shaped honey bottle. He told Henry they found it and he said "Too late now!" He asked what to do with it all and Henry said "It's yours."

Henry had some pithy things to say in his book about what would happen when all this was found and pored over by "curators" who would speculate on what it all meant and probably get it wrong. Hee! Jay

solbrand- whatever makes you feel better. This is over 3 years old, taken in Paris while studying art. I've graduated and now have a great job in my field. Best of luck to the sculptor. Also, the clothing of an "artist" is a J. Pollock reference, which is the original black shirt and jeans. Everyone should dress how they want to AND know the history behind movements in style, artistic or otherwise.

well even if you put it up just for documentation that you were there i still have to thank you for posting this. until his art makes a tour into my town this is the best view i have of his paintings up close. once again....thanks

Someone else had mentioned that I needed to slow down- thanks for understanding! I think people forget that it's not allowed to document like this in most galleries. Another patron had gotten kicked out for doing exactly what I was doing! Hope you enjoy it- I wish I could see his work again and am looking forward to going back to Paris in 2009!
