36th Northwest Film & Video Festival
November 6-14, 2009
Celebrate regional filmmaking alongside the filmmakers at the Northwest Film Center, as the longest running film celebration in the Northwest takes center screen. The festival includes everything from new animated shorts to feature films and documentaries by the premier media artists working in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Montana, Alaska and Idaho. Among the 55 works being screened are 19 singled out for special recognition by this year's festival judge, Los Angeles Times and National Public Radio film critic, Kenneth Turan. In addition to the opening night party, special events include the return of the popular "What's Wrong with This Picture?" in which witty Seattle film guru Warren Etheredge will candidly critique festival submissions that didn't make the cut, and BarCamp-NWFilm, an "un-conference" for filmmakers. Come to the Festival and see an annual, up-to-the minute snapshot of a rich and diverse media arts community of international stature. The full schedule and tickets are available at nwfilm.org. Members $7, general $8, 16 and under $5. 36th Northwest Film & Video Festival Trailer! Produced by Leopold Ketel & Partners with local filmmaker Rob Tyler.
