There was an earlier version of this opener when Robataille was anchor. It was blue animation on a white background. Does WHEC still have a copy in the archive? It would be great to see again! THANKS FOR SAVING THIS ONE.
I haven't lived in the KROC for the past 15 years, but WHEC should get rid of their current Channel 10 logo and go back to the stylized "10" insignia. :)
Haha retro at its best. Personally, what I think would be awesome is to have this intro with the current cast in it, and use it during a big anniversary year for the station. Like pick a week, and play some old intros made modern with the cast.
Haha very cool! Personally, I think it would be awesome for an aniversary week for the station to take this intro or another like it or one from each decade, and have the new cast in it.

OK, kids, who can name the faces in the open?
I see Gabe Dalmath, John Hambleton, RIch Funke, Warren Doreumus, Ray Levato, and David Nolan for starters.
Also - wasn't this done for WHEC by Jay Advertising / Ferdinand Smith?

They did. They switched to NBC in July of 1989.

I think back then channel 10 had CBS programming instead of programming from NBC

Wow, this was funky! Chanell 10 seemed so edgy and agressive back then. Do you have any uploads of WHEC's opening of the early and mid 80s?
