Metropolitan Klezmer plays signature freylekh ('hora') dance melodies: C Minor Bulgar & Ken O'Hara Freylekhs, traditional upbeat party tunes also heard on the band's "Yiddish For Travelers" CD. A beautiful late afternoon/early evening show, sun setting behind the pier.

Band (instrumental for this tune; tango and Yiddish swing videos in this sequence also include vocalist Deborah Karpel) as follows:

Debra Kreisberg, clarinet
Pam Fleming, trumpet
J. Walter Hawkes, trombone
Ismail Butera, accordion
Michael Hess, violin
Dave Hofstra, tuba
Eve Sicular, drums

Videography by Bill Poznanski a.k.a.
Bill Imprint
Additional camera by Sasha Wortzel
Edited by Rich Brotman, facilities by Magnetic Post Production

  • i want play with you, i'm french girl lesbian violonist, and i love your music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just looked at your LiberTango video, are you the one playing? Great! We'd love to play with you... and if you can help bring us to France, great too! Merci & a dank.

  • One thing about this video is the festival mics were hardly letting you hear the trumpet or trombone on the first set (including this tune). You mostly pick up that sound only as background until the second set. To hear the brass players better, see "Ot Azoy Neyt A Shnayder" or "Muzikalisher Tango" also in this series -- by then they had all the horns in the mix.

  • The best is accordionist Ismail Butera - he smokes. He plays some times with Yale Strom and Hot Pstrami (I think HP is a better band, sorry).

  • I agree with you about Ismail naturally. As to HP, a chacun son gout.
