  • @vickboobah Elvis didn't write it though. He may have been the first to record it and the song may have been written specifically for him. I don't have that info.

    Gram Parsons also recorded this song with the Flying Burrito Bros. and I should have mentioned that in the description.

  • Elvis did not right it, my great grandfather did. Vern Stovall, his song was recorded by almost 70 different artist. The biggest being Elvis of course.

  • It was a country song, with a number of those versions, but soul versions were cut by Elvis Presley and O.C. Smith. Elvis takes the prize, but this is really cool: Mountain Music! It sounds so "old." Really good.
