This is wonderful!
Curzon has been one of my very favorite pianists for the past 50 years, and I've yet to hear him "over-interpret" anything. If anything, he may occasionally "under- interpret" something (for my taste).
I never have subscribed to the "Let the music speak for itself" school of thought. There's a reason the performer is there.
If one truly wants the music to "speak for itself", one might try leaving the score on the music rack, by itself, and seeing what it has to say. :))

@snaaptaker MARVELLOUS comment!! I agree 100%!!! What is the role of the artist? (I like Lili Kraus' comments on this subject). There are too many performers today who "let the music speak for itself" and bore the bejeezus out of me (I could name a few but won't for reasons of tact :)) Delighted to discover Sir Clifford's "Kinderszenen" here--it's one of the best I've ever heard.
There is some fine artistry and sensitivity here, but I do wonder if Sir Clifford 'over-interprets' once or twice (e.g. movements 2 and 3), and could allow the music to speak for itself a little more. 'Traumerei' is however, beautifully done!

...indeed julian,"by temperament" slightly overdone,hehe...but as you said the träumerei is really gorgeous,in a certain way better played than horowitz does, more intimate and more stabil rhythmically without neglecting the rubato, very amazing!
