On March 18, 2011, MTA Capital Construction launched two soft ground tunnel boring machines that will dig tunnels beneath Sunnyside Rail Yard in Queens. A part of the East Side Access project, these new tunnels will connect Long Island Rail Road with tracks that will lead to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan.

Where's "The choice between two Manhattan terminals, Penn Station or Grand Central?" I don't expect it too soon (besides the New Haven line M8s) but it will be fun and a bit crazier with that. I know Penn Station has barely enough room there but they can create new tracks as they are at GCT.
