  • @Silverwire100 The ones that are not greedy are incompetent for the most part. All they care about is getting elected and that is what they specialize in.. not economics or central planning. The only solution is a small federal government so that most functions are done at a state level. If my state legislation screws me over, at least I have access to them or I can move. The federal government can make a wrong decision and there is virtually no repercussion or escape.

  • @Silverwire100 They were capable of writing "the people" and if that's what they meant that's what they would have wrote. It's a law not a suggestion book. Why can you not except that there are things meant for our central government to do, and everything else left to the states to work out? If there are no capable people in our states, then were will we get this higher intelligence to find the right answer to all of our problems? How about Obama, I guess the fed will never achieve greatness

  • @mcbowler

Except the greedy pigs in government are few and far between when compared to corporate pigs. Therefore, logic would dictate that government should regulate corporate pigs.

Reform is needed to ensure that corporate lobby groups can't "buy" politicians.

  • @Silverwire100 @Silverwire100 The job of the federal government isn't to regulate stability. If anything, the regulations they have imposed have made it more unstable. I guess everything would be fine if YOU were in charge, but rational moral people rarely are. Government is corrupt to the point of absurdity because of the same reasons corporations do the wrong thing. For money and power. Who is going to regulate the greedy pigs in the Federal Government?

  • @mcbowler

    Actually, you are misreading.

The United States means the people. The government are an extension of the people.

  • @Silverwire100 "and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States" Apparently you can read, but have a problem forming complete ideas in your head. Two important distinctions can be made from this clause. The First is general Welfare meaning not specific to any group. Second, is "of the United States" meaning for government not people. Individuals can take care of themselves, or get legislation passed in their own state to resolve specific problems.

  • @Silverwir

Your country has become more dependent on foreign energy because the greedy coporation don't want to convert to renewable resources.

They are thinking in the short term. They are putting immediate profits ahead of long-term stability. Yet another reason why the federal government is needed to monitor and regulate those greedy pigs.

  • Like you, Ron Paul picks and chooses what he wants the constitution to do for him.

The constituion says welfare for the general well being. PERIOD.

Society as a whole decides what goes where and why and how.

And the federal government WILL continue to provide programs when they are needed. Health care is just as important as protecting your money... if not more!

So stop being a selfish, warped-reader of the constituion. Either follow it all, or don't follow it at all!
